About Us
Home
We are Christina and Jacqui, friends who met in college and found that we shared a love for sewing. After graduation and starting our families, we decided to start a sewing business with the hope of eventually becoming stay at home moms, but what to make? As we have young children, we decided that child-related products would be best suited to us.
Being an advocate of babywearing, and finding that other slings and carriers were not very comfortable, Jacqui designed her own sling and sent the pattern to Christina who at the time did not babywear. After trying the design, Christina also became a babywearing advocate.

We decided that this would be a great product, as other people had to have the same problems as Jacqui with finding a sling that was comfortable to wear for long hours. After deciding that the slings would be the primary product for our business, we designed other products to add to our inventory, including our play mats, doll slings and wraps. Our most recent addition are the the Painted slings and wraps.

This is how Hug-A-Bug Baby Creations was born.

Jacqui Alldritt Christina Boykin

I am 27 years old and currently live in Northern California, in the San Francisco/Sacramento area. Our little girl, Marissa, was born in February 2003. We practice attachment parenting, cloth diaper and are avid babywearers. Marissa has been worn by both her mommy and daddy, as well as her grandparents since she was very little. As she grew, I found the structured baby carriers to be uncomfortable on my shoulders. I tried different slings and found that none were any more comfortable than the carrier we already had. Finally, I designed my own sling. By this time, Marissa was already over a year old, and around 25 pounds. I carried her in the sling for hours. Now that she is much bigger, we generally use a Wrap or Mei Tai, both of which work great, with our 32 pound little girl. I also made one for her dad, who enjoys wearing his baby when he is around the house. We love to try new things and have recently begun to distribut our favorite Mei Tai, the FreeHand Mei Tai. We are also getting ready to offer hand-painted wraps, so keep your eye out or e-mail us if you are interested. I am 29 years old and live in San Diego, Ca. My daughter Sabrina, was born in Jan 2003. She was a difficult nurser and after using Jacqui's sling, I wished that I had known about slings when I was nursing. The sling made shopping much more convenient with a toddler, as when she gets tired, I just place her in the sling instead of having to haul around the stroller. I now have another little girl Kaitlyn born in Sept 2005 without placing her in a carrier, I would not be able to go out by myself with both girls. I use all three carriers (sling, wrap, and mei tai) depending on my mood, and can nurse comfortably in all three. Taking both girls to the park, zoo or shopping is a cinch.

Thank you for visiting Hug-A-Bug Baby Crestions.
We hope you enjoy our slings, wraps, FreeHand mei tais and other products as much as we do.
