Tips from Jacqui Alldritt I
have been Babywearing for a while now, and wanted to impart some tips
that may
help start off your Babywearing experience on a more positive note. So
here are
some tips that I have found on my own or that others have shared with
me. 1.
Your friend’s favorite carrier may not be the best carrier for you, so
try many
different carriers. I recommend trying
the 4 popular types of carriers, including structured carriers
available places
like Babies’R’Us, ring slings, wraparound carriers, and Mei Tais. While there are many other types of carriers
available, one or more of these tend to meet the needs of most anyone
who is
Babywearing. 3. Follow wearing instructions carefully, so
that the baby is safe and you are both comfortable.
In addition, adjustment of your sling or wrap
while wearing may be needed to achieve the best comfort.
One thing to remember is that you need to
wear your baby high, typically with their bottom at your waist or so. While this is a general rule, there are
people who like the baby higher or lower based on their comfort level. |
